Musts in your backpack

I move permanently: business school, events, home, library, ... There are a couple of things I need always with me. Here you have the list:

  • Tablet PC and Accesories: my choice is a convertible one: Lenovo X41 Tablet PC. I keep the computer on a SF Bag: reliable, smooth and the only one with a X41T 8 cells model. I also carry the power cord. I really enjoy the ability to write on the Tablet, so I got a Wacom Cross Pen. It feels better than the original pen.
  • Phone and PDA: my choice Samsung i730: PDA + Phone, ED-VO connection. I also carry a portable connector USB - i730 mainly to charge the device.
  • Notebook: my choice is Moleskine in half letter size.
  • Other Stuff: earphones and my name badge.

Really, things have not changed much from my work days.

Dead King, Crazy World

Once king of the pda market, now Palm OS is finally dead. Bill Gates must be really happy. Really, what the Treo needed, was a good OS. So, you have two wishes left....

Ebay and Skype

EBay Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY) has agreed to acquire Skype Technologies SA, a Luxembourg-based P2P telephony company. The total transaction is valued at approximately $2.6 billion, including $1.3 billion in up-front cash and 32.4 million shares of eBay common stock (which instead could be paid in cash, at eBay's discretion). Skype shareholders include Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Bessemer Venture Partners and Index Ventures.

Questions

  • How will react Google, MSN and Yahoo?
  • How will affect this to EBay share price?

How to take notes

There are a lot of methods to take notes and there are a lot of reasons for taking notes. I need to take notes in order to mantain my attention focused on the class, on the meeting, etc. But there better ways for taking notes. Among the five better techniques, I choose two of them:

  • Cornell Method: commonly suggested for students who want to improve the organization of their notes. One of the keys to the system is that Cornell notes make use of your existing strengths as a note-taker so that learning the system requires a minimum of preparation and adjustment. Additionally, it permits you to develop study notes very soon after taking original lecture or text book notes without the added work of re-writing vast amounts of material.
  • Mindmapping: you may wish to use a non-linear way of organizing your notes called Mind Maps. Mind Maps are diagrammatic ways of organizing key ideas from lectures and texts which emphasize the interconnection of concepts and illustrate the relative hierarchy of ideas from titles, to main concepts, to supporting details. Because they are diagrammatic, they have the potential to capture a lot of information on a single page. They help show the conceptual links between ideas and allows for additional material to be added without the need to crowd the page.

Looking for a phone

There is not choice. If you are looking for the right device, the Samsung i730 is a must. It gives you the best of everything:

- Lightweight and nice
- The only Pocket PC with ED-VO connection (providing data throughput of over 600 Kbps/sec)
- WiFi integrated
- The best keyboard on a mobile device, far superior to the membrane keyboards on others PPC and on the TREO
- 520-MHz Intel PXA272 processor, the fastest on any phone

Tienen alguna oportunidad
